DJ Mag USA recently featured Wavefront in their ‘House Sound of Chicago Special’ feature, saying, “From the original house club The Warehouse, where Frankie Knuckles forged a new style of electronic music from the (literal) ashes of disco, to the hyper-kinetic, modern day bounce of footwork, the history of Chicago is also the history of house. The city’s influence on electronic music has swept around the world many times over, and while others have been swift to imitate, it’s Chicago which has always kept the fires of innovation burning… Enter Chicago’s Wavefront Music Festival, which returns for a second year to Montrose Beach on July 5, 6, & 7. As well as inviting a host of main stage regulars, their new House is Home stage refocuses attention on some of the original heroes of Chicago house, including Frankie Knuckles, Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Gene Farris and Ralphi Rosario.”
West Coast Nightlife giant SBE heads east this summer to partner its widely celebrated XIV Summer Sessions brand with Chicago’s Wavefront Music Festival. True to form, XIV Wavefront Sessions will bring a touch of Hollywood glamour and excess to the already impressive festival bill for an experience unlike any other. The party which began in LA and has since inhabited Las Vegas, Miami and Coachella will deliver all the champagne-spraying, fist-pumping and confetti-throwing that luxury club-goers throughout the country have come to expect!
Wavefront’s charity partner has been announced to be The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Wavefront will donate a portion of proceeds from the festival in support of the organization’s mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
