The whole nation is obsessed with “Making a Murderer,” and Adam Selman is no exception. On February 11th at Milk Studios, the young designer and self confessed “true-crime fanatic” sent a collection down the runway that was inspired by the Netflix documentary series and the sensationalism that surrounds the goriest misdeeds. With its navy and black palette, puffy jackets, and goth girl zippers, the collection showcased a moodier side of the designer but still contained his characteristically campy elements including flashy pops of metallic, feathery tinsel dresses and a covetable cut-out jumpsuit with beaded embellishments. Pajama-esque matching tops and bottoms and one very chic bathrobe/coat hybrid were fun interpretations of a dark concept and made Selmans “murder in the night” theme feel more like a game of Clue than a bloody crime scene.
