Stacey Bendet recreated the daily life of a 1970’s New Yorker with Alice + Olivia’s Fall 2016 presentation on February 16th. The 70s style fashion was very popular for this season, but Bendet has been known to include this era in her previous collections as well. Starting off the presentation was a scene of painting in a studio. Within the painting are empty pill bottles which suggest the culture of the time. This was a very eclectic collection varying from darker punk type looks, working girl looks seen in a turtle neck paired with a skirt, and then finishing off with a dressier club outfit. Loud geometric patterns, flared sleeves and pants brought together the overall feel. It’s also worth noting that the denim jacket with patches on it is available for purchase at Alice + Olivia stores. Customers can choose whether or not they want the patches on the jacket, which makes it more appealing for purchase.
