Balmain’s fall/winter 2016 collection was an ode to the Kardashian clan that the designer loves oh so much. Olivier Rousteing’s #BalmainArmy was a supermodel clad group, decked out in elaborate outfits focused on female curves. Kendall Jenner both opened and closed the show, which was held on March 3rd. The natural dark-haired model debuted blonde locks on the runway, seemingly trading hair colors with Gigi Hadid, who tried her luck as a brown-haired girl. Monochromatic palettes of pales and nudes walked the runway in layered styles and detailed pieces. Some outfits were made complete by elaborate beading and curve-enhancing tassels, while others had both lace and ruffles. Details packed a punch in this collection, same-hued stripes made a reoccurring appearance, and over-the-knee suede boots were sleek and sexy. Balmain’s Kardashian vibes may be growing weary on some, yet his collection is as beautiful and unique as ever.
