Betty Who has your next girl’s night anthem covered with her hot new single “Human Touch“. The track is the first song Betty has released off her upcoming EP and was written by Betty Who, Peter Thomas and Kyle Moorman. “Human Touch” demonstrates why Betty is praised for her uplifting style, as it displays a mix of Betty’s whimsical voice with a clean beat that will get you up and moving.
For Betty this track is intimately personal and largely relatable. As a busy pop-sensation, Betty is torn between personal relationships and the dedication to her booming career. This dynamic resulted in the energetic single, of which Betty states:
“’Human Touch’ is about when you’re in a relationship with somebody and that relationship ends, and you’ll always live in this weird middle ground where you used to be the closest person in the world to this ex—but now you’re not anymore. It’s real to me, and it felt universal enough for me to write about. I’ve spent the past two years on the road, and I walked away with this intense feeling of wanting to make dance music. All of that touring and living developed my sense of self. Because of that, I’m in a place where I feel more aware of who I am and able to be vulnerable in a sincere and blunt way. ‘Human Touch’ is the introduction to that new version of myself I’ve found in the last couple of years.” -Betty Who
Betty’s musical roots run deep, beginning with her classical training on the cello. She made the move from Australia to The United States to attend school at Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan. From there, Betty continued her musical training at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Since then, she has won a NewNextNow Award for Best New Musician in 2014 and has toured with Katy Perry and Kiesza.
