Beyoncé has partnered with Topshop in a 50-50 venture and announced the launch of a new activewear label, Parkwood Topshop Athletic Ltd. Topshop owner, Sir Philip Green highlighted, “This is not a collaboration. This is about building a brand and building a business — a separate, proper business, with separate overhead and a separate office.”
The line will feature clothing, footwear, and accessories that fall under the dance, fitness and sports inspired categories. The label could launch online and in stores as early as fall 2015 and will be available in Topshop stores, as well as on topshop.com. Availability may also extend to other retailers.
The partnership does not come as a big surprise, with Beyoncé being a loyal customer to the Topshop brand. In a statement released earlier today, Beyoncé affirmed her support of the brand, “ I could not think of a better partner, I have always loved Topshop for its fashion credentials and forward thinking. Working with its development team to create and produce a technical and fashion-led collection is exciting and I’m looking forward to participating in all aspects of this partnership.”
No photos or sketches of the line have been released yet, but we look forward to seeing what will come from this epic union.
