Though American brand Calvin Klein took to the Milan runways for their ready-to-wear collection, they created an evening wear capsule collection for New York that was born from the same roots. The elegant looks, shown amongst a shadowy mirrored backdrop, was a modern take on red carpet classics. The mainly black suits were accented with silver and gold details, leather trim, and perfected tailoring. Creative director, Italo Zucchelli, brought the denim and underwear aspects for which Calvin Klein is known into the forefront of his garments. Long johns were created with the well-known Calvin Klein waistbands and whether just a sliver of chest was seen beyond buttoned suit jackets or metallic pants were complimented by a shirtless chest, sex appeal was part of the showing. Zucchelli, who is a board member of the CFDA, brought attention to the second edition of NYFW: Mens, while creating something fresh and young, yet also wearable for the right customer.
