Phoebe Philo gave everyone room to breathe amid the chaos of Paris Fashion Week. On March 6th, the designer presented an airy runway show of Céline’s Fall/Winter collection. Pants were billowy, blouses were sheer, and sweaters cocooned the wearer. Mostly monochromatic looks provided meditative space to concentrate as did roomy silhouettes. The forty-two outfits kept to the casual side, but the few dresses of ruched silk were instantly covetable. The collection was a quiet signal of changing times as sandals and light fabrics proved that these days the season isn’t as important as the attitude. Of the collection Philo explained, “It’s about finding the possibilities. Curiosity. Going in there and trying to find it,” she said. “Find the stillness sometimes in it.”
