Chanel: classic, timeless, refined fashion through and through. The brand name brings a flurry of iconic images to mind. Designer Karl Lagerfeld always pushes just enough buttons when it comes to apparel and when it comes to a crew to go with it, it’s not the badass #BalmainArmy, but rather a edgy group of varied cool reaching a multitude of generations and wowing the viewer in campaigns and ads alike. For spring’s newest set of brand faces, Chanel has surprised once again.
Cara Delevingne stuns as geek chic in Chanel’s latest eyewear campaign. The model-turned-actress publicly turned away from the fashion world’s strict eye in August of 2015. In an open letter on motto, Time’s new women’s site, Delevingne described her decision saying, “I was nearly 20 and had been modeling for several years. My vantage point had changed…and I had changed. I knew I had to reevaluate my life and my goals for my future. I didn’t want to resent fashion or my success.” Though her vantage point took her out of most ads and off of most runways, it’s clear that her friendship with Lagerfeld stayed strong. The model sat front row, dog in her lap, at Chanel’s 2016 Couture show just a few weeks ago. It seems that the Chanel hold hasn’t completely let up for the woman we now usually see on the big screen. Jumping back into her modeling past and Chanel sunnies, it’s clear Delevingne isn’t completely done with the fashion world just yet.
Delevingne isn’t the only one kicking it with Chanel. Ultimate cool girl and the world’s most fashionable 15-year-old Willow Smith has been signed on as the newest of the brand ambassador’s. Joining the ranks of Blake Lively, Kristen Stewart, Elle Fanning, Cara Delevingne, and Julianne Moore, Smith released a heartfelt thank you to her Instagram account, even adding in an ode to legendary brand adding some diversity to their repertoire. See the Instagam below and be sure to keep a watch for both Delevingne and Smith as they emulate the Chanel attitude while adding their own personal touch.
