DIOR – PARIS F/W 2012 FASHION SHOW
Since Galliano’s departure, the house of Dior has been in upheaval, but Billy Gaytten’s second collection for the label, influenced by “soft modernity,” takes a look back at some of Dior’s greatest hits, including the New Look and Bar jacket. Emphasis was put on the small waist, with belted, full skirts and flared peplums. The Fall 2012 collection referenced its past with a modern update; classic portrait necklines were highlighted with twisted leather, while houndstooth was blown up to abstract proportions. Dior presented a timeless collection of fashion standards, demonstrating a fresh take on the pieces the house has long been iconic for.
