Dsquared2‘s Spring/Summer 2013 toyed with traditionally masculine fabrics (like acid-wash denims and spiky ‘punk rock’ era accessories) by altering both their purpose and their proportion. White shirts, black pants and shorts were the shapes, but pinks, leopards and an emphasis on denim were what truly dominated—including a stand out piece: a dinner jacket, that pushed the collection in a subtle eveningwear direction. Skinny black ties and strands of chains brought the 70s London/80s New York aesthetic full circle, but legendary British stylish Ray Petri would have been proud of the passing nod his work got in this nostalgia-minded progressive collection.
