Erykah Badu, four-time Grammy winner and self described “singer, songwriter, producer, DJ, director, activist, holistic healer, doula, veggie, bgirl, observer, and hustler” has just gotten her 10th top 10 record on Billboard’s Adult R&B Songs chart. The hit came in the form of “Phone Down,” a track on her latest mixtape, But You Caint Use My Phone.

This year has been incredibly busy for the Badu. But You Caint Use My Phone was her first full musical release in 5 years and she has just been announced as music provider of Comedy Central’s series, Legends of Chamberlain Heights. She also appears in Nas’ new film, The Land, for which she teamed up with the rapper for the theme song.

The neo-soul goddess recently made headlines for pledging to donate a portion of all future concert proceeds to the African American 490 Challenge. The organization is working raise money to process Detroit’s backlog of stored rape kit tests.
