FASHION MODELS TO CLOSE THE 2012 OLYMPICS

The 2012 Olympics are adding some fashion to their closing this year, including some of fashion’s elite models to be apart of the festivities. Although the Olympic Games kick off with their opening ceremony on July 27, everyone is raving about the grand finale.

A cluster of some of Britain’s most prominent models are set to engage in the closing ceremony for the Olympic Games in London next month. The line up consists of Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Lily Cole, Stella Tennant, Lily Donaldson and daughter of the legendary Rolling Stones Rock god, Mick Jagger, Georgia May Jagger. All are set to take their marks on the catwalk during the event on August 12. The models will walk in clothes crafted by British designers Stella McCartney, Vivienne Westwood and Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. THR reports the playlist will include David Bowie’s hit “Fashion.”

Speaking of playlists… Not only do they have a stellar fashion presentation, but a pretty impressive music line up as well. They’re calling the event “A Symphony of British Music,” according to U.K.’s Mirror. Including performances by Queen, Annie Lennox, Take That, George Michael, The Pet Shop Boys and Madness. One Direction and Jessie J will also perform, the report stated. This is just a handful of artist from the list, others are schedule to perform at the event as well.The Who is scheduled to close out the show, Emeli Sandé is set to open.  The Mirror also says, all the stars will receive a “token” payment of 1 pound for their participation. To add on to the festivities, the ceremony will also feature performances by comedy duo Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders, who will apparently sing the Sex Pistols’ Pretty Vacant.

The Olympic organizers have not made an announcements about the performers for the Games on their website. However, they did note more information on the closing ceremony will be announced during the up coming weeks.
