Portuguese fashion designer Fatima Lopes first became a hit designer in Lisbon with the opening of “Fatima Lopes Boutique” in 1992. From there she began spreading to Paris fairs and in 1999 Lopes became the first Portuguese designer to show in Paris Fashion Week. This season Fatima Lopes debuted her SS12 collection in front of a breathtaking overview of Paris from the second floor of the Eiffel Tower. Focusing on evening-wear, Lopes’s palette was limited to a classic black, white and nude combinations, however several of her other garments branched out to vibrant blues, oranges and pinks sometimes muted into pastels with the addition of sheer overlays.
