On February 24th, Fausto Puglisi became the latest designer to mesh the pavement of the streets with the runways of high fashion. His Fall/Winter collection showcased a balance of sportswear and his usual over-the-top aesthetic. Embellished sweaters, graphic prints, and fur capes were given a dose of casual cool with laid-back NYC beanies and combat boots. Trendsetters everywhere will also be pleased by the collection which was heavy on belts, blouses, and blazers. Puglisi did not completely forgo his love for the spectacle. Echoes of the cape that he designed for Madonna’s Rebel Heart tour were seen in swirls and the suns on several dresses and tops. Something completely new for Puglisi this year was the jewel toned palette which made the collection especially sellable.
