FOCUS TAIWAN – NEW YORK S/S 2012 PRESENTATION

IMG_8867IMG_8874IMG_8889The designers involved with the show were; Free East, Jane Hu, Jasper Huang, Eve Lin, Shirley Yang, and Chang Ying. Taking a variety of influence from traditional Taiwan design, each designer brand produced their own highly individual collection, mixing traditional craftsmanship with contemporary silhouettes. Full of feminine texture, Shirley Yang’s beautiful gowns graced the catwalk with intricate, hand-made chiffon detailing and silk rosettes. Eyes turned as feminine, lightweight materials floated down the catwalk. Chang Ying was the only designer in the collaborative group show to use eco-friendly materials. Creating carefully constructed silhouettes which clung auspiciously to the body, Ying manipulated the use of knotting silky materials around which hung sleek drapes of material to create a modern, yet innately classical and beautiful look.
