Riccardo Tisci showed his ancient Egyptian inspired collection for Givenchy at The Carreau du Temple on March 6th during Paris Fashion Week. Before he was a well-known designer, Tisci had many shows at this venue. For this particular event, the atmosphere was transformed into a wooden maze setting the tone for the Egyptian and mythological themed show. Celebrity audience members included Bradley Cooper, Ciara, Kris Jenner and Kanye West. Many Egyptian style prints were seen on tops and dresses such as the Eye of Horus. As in previous seasons, military style tailoring was used, but with a twist: officer jackets were paired with long shorts and over the knee, heeled boots. As the show continued, a mashup of leopard and python prints flooded the runway in all different pieces and accessories. Finally, referencing the Greek maze designer Daedalus’ son Icarus, Tisci incorporated metallic leather jackets with winged detailing.
