Haute Couture: The Polaroids of Cathleen Naundorf is a new book, released by Prestel Publishing, featuring over one hundred images from Cathleen Naundorf’s experimentations with Polaroids and high fashion. Haute Couture represents six years of work by Naundorf and includes images she made for some of the world’s most celebrated fashion designers. Images of haute couture designs from Chanel, Dior, Gaultier, Lacroix, Elie Saab, Philip Treacy, and Valentino are all captured with a large-format camera and compiled all together for the first time in this collection. Mentored by Horst P. Horst, Naundorf combines the colors of instant films with her trademark play of light and shadows to produce unique, spellbinding images featuring both modern and archival couture. Naundorf is a rising force in the world of fashion photography, and seeing her work all together like this only reaffirms her strength of vision and talent as an artist.
