The Swedish duo, Icona Pop, are full of alarming surprises and first time releases. After premiering the track “First Time” on July 16th, the chart-toppers also officially released their Emergency EP, the following day on July 17th via Record Company TEN/Big Beat/Atlantic Records.

Ironically, “First Time” was the the first time the duo, which consists of Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo, ever recorded a single together. Although that was many years ago, it wasn’t until the two got in the studio with producer Rickey Reed that they decided to revisit the past and give the distant memory new life.

The duo first signed to TEN Music Group in 2009 and soon after made waves in the industry and on the charts. With the release of the single, “I Love It” featuring Charlie XCX – who was featured exclusively in The Untitled Magazine, The Music Issue 6 – their fan base only continued to grow, breaking through on an international level. Their electropop sounds and edgy fashion sense has been featured on a number of television shows and on tour with pop sensations including Miley Cyrus on her Bangerz Tour and with One Direction on the Honda Civic Tour, which is currently visiting venues in North America from July 9th until September 12th.

Icona Pop has a busy summer ahead of them and only hope to keep the alarms ringing about their new EP and single. See the remaining tour stops the duo will be making on the Honda Civic Tour below.
