JEREMY LAING – NEW YORK – SPRING / SUMMER 2013 FASHION SHOW

jeremylaing001.450x675 jeremylaing033.450x675Jeremy Laing’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection for New York’s Fashion Week presented a monochromatic futuristic look. Solid colors juxtaposed with translucent and metallic fabrics pushed the collection towards the conceptual. Fabrics included pigment-dyed cupro/cotton, sandwashed silk, ramie mixed with polyester, techno chiffon and a tarnished pewter foil. The former McQueen apprentice called the collection “Swamp Deco” and was inspired by a recent trip to the Bayou in Louisiana.  “We fed marshmallows to alligators while floating on a pontoon boat under boughs of Spanish Moss. There’s where the palette came from. Other references were Kinesio Tape, baseball uniforms, flak vests and body armor.”
