Ji Cheng’s Spring 2013 line for London Fashion Week focused on the blend of eastern and western influences. She combined eastern fabrics, like sleek, breathable cotton, with careful western tailoring, and tight sculpture. Cheng was able to create soft outfits that were form fitting to the body. Light, earthy tones reminiscent of the color of tea were used for the entire collection. Accessories like hats familiar to western culture were worn resembling handles and spouts. Cheng’s sophisticated styles are practical while pushing the imagination and bringing cultures together.
