Famed pop prince Justin Bieber has unleashed his eighth track for his Music Monday series, where fans are assured new singles every Monday for ten weeks. As promised, Bieber released the funk-fuelled “Roller Coaster“ for the week’s instalment, a disco-meets-R&B track channeling a subtly solemn vibe. The track follows the previously released ballad “PYD” in which Bieber dueted with none other than “Bump N’ Grind“ R&B legend R. Kelly, a sultry single stocked with sexual innuendos and awash with low-key synthesizers.
In the latest Music Monday release “Roller Coaster”, the 19-year-old laments the ebb and flow of relationships over disco strings and a low bass synths, working a laid-back falsetto. “It’s a song for people going through a heartbreak – like I was when I wrote it,” wrote Bieber. “It means so much to me to be able to share what I was, and still am going through, with my fans. I’m very proud of this song and I hope it gives my fans some insight into my heart.”
“Roller Coaster” is the eighth track Bieber has dropped for the Music Monday series – following “PYD,” “All Bad,” “Bad Day,” “Hold Tight,” “All That Matters,” “Heartbreaker” and “Recovery.” The weekly release series will continue every Monday through to mid-December. Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, tweeted recently saying the singer will be releasing a “special movie on Christmas”, which will match up nicely with the scheduled ten-week series.
