LIMI FEU – PARIS F/W 2012 FASHION SHOW
Limi Feu described her Fall 2012 collection as, “the fifties, romantic, [and] feminine.” This was a decidedly different approach for the designer, who in past seasons has been known for her rigorously gender-neutral ensembles. This season Feu also played with voluminous proportions, creating cocoon jackets, roomy harem pants, and poet shirts, with an emphasis on high necklines and midi hemlines. Feu managed to keep her proportions in check, however, by mixing in corseted looks as well as pieces in blush pink and army green to give the monochromatic, almost funereal collection, a dose of excitement and color. The soft melancholy of the collection heightened its romantic, vintage undercurrent, creating garments that perfectly juxtaposed masculine and feminine elements.
