On February 28th, Consuelo Castiglioni debuted the Fall/Winter 2016 collection for Marni. In a fusion of unique cuts, bold colors, and funky accessories Marni painted a picture of modern Italian fashion. Inspired by a fresh, new silhouette, many pieces had bubble sleeves, hems with arching cutouts, and structured, wide cut jackets. Blouses had big ballooning sleeves and were tucked under rounded off capes and fur boleros. Digitally designed embellishments were added on menswear styled jackets and a 3-D element was added into the pieces towards the end of the show via wide sleeves, ending about three inches above the wrist. The last two looks had cellophane-like papers, added wispily to oversized outerwear. For Castagliani and her never-ending experiments, this one had the best outcome yet.
