Mary Katrantzou – London – Fall/Winter 2016

Mary Katrantzou’s silver runway reflected like the sunlight hitting the ocean on February 21st. Models donned a mix of prints, textures, and styles to create an eclectic collection that was both fun and unique. With a Western theme and Dolly Parton on the sound system, Katrantzou took that cheeky flair to a modern state. Many models wore printed scarves wrapped tightly around their heads and knotted under their chins to compliment colorful looks. Pants, skirts, and blouses all had whimsically embroidered stars, stripes and swirls, while tulle skirts appeared in layered looks. The silhouettes of pieces were classic, but the collection had modern bold prints and sparkly embellishments. Leather and fur outerwear added to the aesthetic, leaving the collection with an overall funky feel.
