Following her collaboration with Wolfgang Gartner on the single “Overdose” (April 2013), Medina continues to seep into our veins with her addictive, new single “Junkie” from her forthcoming sophomore album release, Forever due out on Ultra Music this November.
Medina has experienced massive worldwide success with her US debut album Welcome To Medina, released in September 2011 which spawned the international hit single “You & I.” The single sold more than 1 million worldwide, and has over 20 million views on YouTube, while in the UK, the single ranked as A-list at BBC Radio 1 and entered the US Billboard Chart’s, Hot Dance Airplay at #6. The follow up single “Addiction” topped the Billboard Hot Dance Chart at #1.
While sitting on the top of the charts is all very exciting to Medina, there’s a sheer honesty with her that resonates beyond the clubs on a much larger level. “I can’t write about champagne bottles and dancing on tables. That’s just not me. I have a lot of art, and the way I write is quite sensitive. This is what I feel” affirms Medina.

“Junkie is a song about how addictive love and being in love is! The way you can loose your mind when you don’t get what you want or get it how you want it to go… It’s like a junkie fiending for its drug.” She continues, “it’s a song I wrote quite a while ago and I kept going back to it because it was stuck to my brain.” For the new single she teams up with Denmark’s award winning and platinum selling DJ/Production team “Svendstrup & Vendelboe” (S & V) who contribute to the overall aggressive electro-charged-junkie-fiending feeling the song evokes.
