NY DESIGN WEEK KICKS OFF WITH EVENTS INCLUDING PROPERTY’S LATEST COLLECTION LAUNCH

On May 18th, PROPERTY launched new collections as part of New York Design Week at the PROPERTY Tribeca Flagship Showroom. The first collection is called, “NOCTURNAL,” a new lighting collection designed by Sabrina Schilcher. The show also featured new furniture and accessories from the Milan design company, PULPO. The collection features ceramic tables and bowls called “Mila” and a limited edition floor light called “Oda,” all designed by Sebastian Herkner. Davide Monopoli is also featured with his fun shaped, colorful mirrors called “Dita” and “Olivia.” Another ceramic line featured vases in iridescent colors by Hermann August Weizenegger, which is named “Make Up.” The night was hosted by Anthony Todd, Paige Novick, and Susan Shin, with attendance from notables of the art world in architecture, interiors and design. DJ ARA preformed at the show and Blason Louis curated a selection of handcrafted wines from France’s independent winemakers that was served in its signature miniature flacons.

NYCxDESIGN is a citywide celebration of design across architecture, craft, engineering, fashion, film, media, furniture, graphic design, interior design, urban design, and many more design disciplines. The show features different events across the five boroughs that include exhibitions, installations, trade shows, talks, lunches and open studios. The celebration started May 3rd and ends on May 24th. According to the event’s website, “Spanning all disciplines of design, NYCxDESIGN creates a collaborative platform for cultural and commercial opportunities, elevates established and emerging design practices and increases awareness of and appreciation for design by all audiences.”

PROPERTY has become a lifestyle brand in the architecture and design community. It is the long time resource to architects and designers by sourcing from its range of collections for their residential, commercial and hotel projects, as well as prop stylists for film and editorial productions, and retail customers. The proprietors, Sabrina Schilcher and Ondine Harris, are known for their keen eye and early discovery of innovative designers. Their roster of contemporary talent includes Lee Broom, Ferrucio Laviani, Gio Ponti, and many more.

PROPERTY is located at 57 Walker St. in Manhattan and is part of the Tribeca Design District.  Also included in the Tribeca Design District is Colony, Patrick Parrish, Antiqueria, Febrik, and many more. The Untitled Space Gallery is at 45 Lispenard St. in Tribeca, with the exhibit, SHE INSPIRES, on display.
