On Tuesday February 16th, Peter Copping showed his Fall 2016 collection for Oscar de la Renta. The collection was inspired by the French battle of Versailles and Copping designed with a combination of tradition and modernity. 18th century inspired fabrics were seen in skirts, dresses, and jackets. Dotting the runway were several traditional corset tops with an updated flare. One of the most modern touches of the collection was Copping’s use of a very thin sweater paired with skirts and layered under dresses. In comparison to the bright colors of the Spring collection, the Fall collection was more muted and neutral to create the feel of traditional 18th century France fashion with a contemporary twist.
