No stranger to grand, over-the-top fashion shows, Philipp Plein’s Fall/Winter 2016 Milan runway show did not disappoint. Held in an expansive room at the Fiera on February 27th, the evening began as three silver semi-trailers, flames blazing from their smoke stacks à la Mad Max, backed in and dropped off their fashion cargo. Models marched out in black jumpsuits with silver detailing, slinky black dresses with geometric cutouts and silver embellishment. High intensity and a modern aesthetic were consistent throughout the collection. Channeling fierce female superheroes, models sped down the mirrored runway in mostly black paneled catsuits, micro-dresses and embellished biker jackets. To end the evening, a fourth semi-trailer loaded with subwoofers and disco lights, carried in Chris Brown who shook the room as models danced before the finale walk.
