Eclectic transnational three-piece Favored Nations shares the Psychemagik remix of their debut single “Blame Game”. The brainchild of Morgan Phalen (Justice, Phenomenal Handclap Band), James Curd (Greenskeepers, DFA, Exploited), and Surahn Sidhu, Favored Nations draws upon a wide array of influences to create a unique collection of sounds in their three-track EP Blame Game, released last month. If you’re looking for a summer soundtrack then look no further. Blame Game is decidedly a delicious slice of summertime featuring warm vocal melodies, bouncy baselines, understated disco-tinged guitar lines, and perhaps a handclap or two.

The UK duo of Tom Coveney and Danny McLewin (Psychemagik) give the EP’s leading track a cosmic disco makeover that pulsates with deep and spacey synths. Barcelona’s Sau Poler’s take on “Blame Game” reinvents the single as a bouncy and percussive track with singer Morgan Phalen’s vocals cut up to act as another beat in the dance of drums and synths. More remixes of Favored Nations’ Blame Game EP from the likes of Nora En Pure, James Curd, and Cosmic Kids are forthcoming later this month.
