Reed Krakoff just announced the release of his extremely limited edition perfumes, creating only one hundred bottles of his latest RK Limited Edition Eau de Parfum with a price tag that matches their exclusivity.  Besides designing for his remarkably successful eponymous line, Krakoff is also the President and Executive Creative Director of Coach.  Each 60ml bottle of his new perfume will set you back $778 and comes in a choice of four colors, gray, transparent, nude, and silver.  The beautiful glass bottles are hand-blown by the Murano, Italy Seguso family, who have been making glassware since the twelfth century.  The perfume contains the very hard to get French hyacinth absolute, as well as aldehydes, notes of black pepper, neroli extract,  and peony, on a “background of high-quality precious vetiver and orris root.”  With each purchase of the limited edition fragrance the buyer will also receive a funnel for decanting the fragrance, and engraved stopper, and a card hand-signed by Krakoff himself.  When asked how the designer can justify that massive pricetag, he responded simply, “What a lot of women want is something that not everyone can afford.”
