Rap veterans El-P and Killer Mike released a raging beast of an album last summer in Run the Jewels and have just dropped a video for one of its standouts, “Get It.” The video, directed by Mateo Suarez, is made up of home footage and pictures of the group performing on stage, hanging with Kool A.D. in front of the White House and having a pleasant lunch on a waterfront in some warm place. It’s pretty straightforward compared to the ridiculousness of the group’s “36 ” Chain” video, which depicts Mike and El-P going on a suicide mission to save a kidnapped stuffed animal, but it’s fun to see what the two have been up to since the album came out.

Like the rest of the songs on the project, “Get It” was produced by El-P and features both members rapping on it. Run the Jewels was a total fanboy project for hip-hop heads because it saw two extremely talented veterans who were seemingly opposites combine forces. It also saw Mike spitting hefty slabs of genius — “I rap with the elegance of an African elephant” — over El-P’s cranked-up instrumentals, which sound like they were made with a drum machine from the future. That was pretty cool, too.
