We’re absolutely “Magnetised” by English singer/songwriter Tom Odell, who recently announced the dates and cities of his upcoming North American tour. You’ll have to act fast to see Odell, as he will only hit 16 major cities in the US and Canada during the duration of the tour. Opening night will be in Philadelphia, PA, on October 3rd, while the finale will be in San Diego, CA, on October 27th. Tickets will become available starting today, June 24th.

Not able to catch him on tour? Well, if you happen to be in NYC next week, it’s your lucky day! The soulful Brit announced he’s holding a free concert in Madison Square Park on June 30th from 7 – 8 pm, but be sure to get there early for a front-row seat.

It’s been over two years since Odell released his first album, Long Way Down, which included the popular, mesmerizing hits “Another Love” and “Heal” and won the singer a Brits Critics’ Choice Award. Now, he’s released his second album, Wrong Crowd, which he produced alongside Jim Abbiss. The former has also produced for superstar names Adele, Arctic Monkeys, and Kasabian.

When describing the album and its inspiration, Odell said:

“I wanted the songs to sound big and dramatic; big strings and melodies emphasizing the songs further – rich in musicality and holding nothing back. The album follows a narrative of a man held at ransom by his childhood, yearning for it, yearning for nature – a desire for innocence in this perverse world in which he now lives. It’s a fictional story but the emotions and feelings are obviously ones I have felt – though the stories are elaborated and exaggerated. I wanted to create a world with a heightened sense of reality.”

Adding to the singer’s success, Odell will be performing at Glastonbury Festival in Somerset this Saturday, June 25th. You can also catch him performing “Magnetised,” (see video above) the second track from Wrong Crowd, on “The Today Show” June 29th.
