Actress and pop singer Selena Gomez can officially add major fashion house campaign star to her repertoire, as she has become the new face of Louis Vuitton, following in the footsteps of Jaden Smith and Alicia Vikander. Gomez announced the exciting news on her Instagram with a photo from the campaign.
Some of the stunning photos show Gomez wearing a large, black fur hat and black shearling jacket while holding up a handbag, and wearing a form-fitting dress and chunky heels beside an airplane, and posing in black and red amongst models Jean Campbell, Erika Linder, Natalie Westling, and Rianne Van Rompaey. The photos for the Series 5 campaign were shot by Bruce Weber in Miami.
The Revival singer’s status in the campaign seems quite forthcoming, as Selena and Louis Vuitton creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière, have become quite close over the past two years. Gomez wore an ensemble by the designer to this year’s Met Gala, she supported Louis Vuitton at the Unicef Ball and was featured on the cover of Vogue Brazil together alongside Ghesquière. Not to mention, the two frequently interact on each other’s Instagrams.
Not only has Gomez become a rising fashion star, but her “Revival Tour” is in full swing. The headlining tour, which promotes Gomez’s upbeat, pop album Revival, began in May in the US and will end in December in Mexico. Some of the popular tracks off the album include “Hands to Myself,” “Good for You (feat. A$AP Rocky),” “Same Old Love,” and “Kill Em With Kindness,” for which she recently released the music video. We can’t wait to see what else is in store for the 23-year-old in both the fashion and music worlds.
