Sia‘s album ‘1000 Forms of Fear’ debuts at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart, the first #1 chart debuting album of her career, which includes her breakthrough single “Chandelier.” ‘1000 Forms of Fear’ also hit #1 on the iTunes Album Chart in 47 countries including the US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. “Chandelier” has peaked at #1 on the iTunes singles chart in over 31 countries and debuted at #1 on Spotify’s Top Viral Chart. “Chandelier” was written by Sia and Jesse Shatkin and produced by her longtime collaborator Greg Kurstin, along with Shatkin, and its video has over 64 million views. The video was directed by Sia and Daniel Askill and shot in Los Angeles at the old Herald Examiner building in downtown LA. You can watch the video here.

Another notable part of ‘1000 Forms of Fear’ is the unusual route Sia took to promote the album. For starters, the cover art does not show her face, but only her now iconic blonde bob. She also decided not to show her face during any TV performances of “Chandelier,” and didn’t pose for any promotional photo shoots. She instead performed on TV with her back to the camera while dancers interpreted the song (as seen on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “Late Night With Seth Meyers” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”)

Sia has crafted several hits over the last few years. In 2013, she was behind several pop songs including Rihanna’s “Diamonds”, Katy Perry’s “Double Rainbow”, Britney Spears’ “Perfume”, and Beyoncé ‘s”Pretty Hurts” in addition to working with Celine Dion, Kylie Minogue, Angel Haze, and for Brooke Candy’s forthcoming album and EP Opulence. Sia is also the featured vocalist on many of the tracks she has written for others including “Titanium” with David Guetta, “Beautiful Pain” with Eminem, and “Wild Ones” with FloRida.

Sia also launched #siaselfie campaign where fans can upload their own photo and have their face within the frame Sia’s notorious blonde hair.
