SWEETLIFE FESTIVAL’s FIVE WILDEST MOMENTS

The Sweetlife Festival threw down at Columbia, MD’s Merriweather Post Pavillion this past weekend (May 30-31). For those who missed the party (or those who can’t remember!) we put together a list of our top five favorite moments from a festival teeming with wild performances.

5. Headliner Kendrick Lamar made friends with festival founders Sweetgreen with the collaborative song “Beets Don’t Kill My Kale.” He extended the friendship by inviting Sweetgreen CEO on stage Jonathan Neman for “m.A.A.d city” – however Neman didn’t end up being the most devout fan and failed so hard at rapping along that Lamar kicked him off stage for not knowing all the words. Some were disappointed the rapper only performed one song from his new album To Pimp A Butterfly but his epic live performance made up for it.

4. Billy Idol (not Billy Joel, as some younger attendees were confused over!) took the stage and reminded everyone that he’s a rock god.

3. Calvin Harris, superstar DJ and the second day’s headliner closed out the festival as confetti rained down from canons – and sweet ending to a sweet weekend indeed.

Mariana

2. Marina and the Diamonds‘ set carried on without canons or anyone getting kicked off stage, but as Marina continues to be one of our all-time favorites and mega hot girl crush, as the release of our upcoming “Girl Power” issue inches closer we had to include her and her ability to slay the shimmery signature catsuit.

Tove Lo

1. Tove Lo flashed the stage – practicing what she preaches as she sung “Talking Bodies.” Some may take it as exploitative, but we’re all for women reclaiming their bodies and having fun. You go, girl!

Thanks for the fun and see you next year.
