SHARK ATTACK SOUNDS
Montauk – Thursday, June 30
It makes sense that one of the funnest parties of the summer would be hosted by Milk Studios founder, Mazdack Rassi. He and photographer Ben Watts started Shark Attack Sounds in 2002 as a friendly gathering but the event has now one of Montauk’s most popular events of the season. This year’s exclusive party features DJ sets by Chelsea Leyland, Oli Benz and DJ Jus-Ske.
ELECTRIC BEACH WITH VIRGIL ABLOH
Montauk – July 2nd
Corona’s Electric Beach will hit The Montauk Beach House. This time around the event features Virgil Abloh with special guest, Hotel Garuda.

PARTY LIKE IT’S 1999: 20 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE DAY @ THE BELL HOUSE
Brooklyn – Saturday, July 2nd
The Bell House’s weekly ‘Party Like It’s 1999’ series is actually going back to 1996 for this year’s 4th of July edition. Marking twenty years since Will Smith faced off with aliens in the film, Independence Day, the late night event will feature a throwback playlist of Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeff tunes.
PARTY ON THE BEACH @ GURNEY’S
Montauk – July 2nd & 3rd
Party monsters heading to the Hamptons this weekend should check out Gurney’s. On Saturday, Hannah Bronfman will guest DJ on the beach before heading to Regent Cocktail Club’s Firepit to spin with hubby-to-be and Untitled Magazine favorite, Brendan Fallis. On Sunday at Gurney’s, Coco Robert, who hit the decks at The Untitled Magazine‘s #GirlPower Issue launch party, takes over the decks.
SUMMERSTAGE FEAT. KING SUNNY ADÉ
Central Park – Sunday, July 3rd
On Sunday, get over to Central Park for a high energy dose of Afrobeat at NYC’s favorite outdoor concert series. Renowned Nigerian musician, King Sunny Adé is the headlining artist. He hasn’t toured since 2009 and is known to sell-out shows so expect a giant crowd at this free event. The concert also features the psychedelic sounds of fellow Nigerian legend, Orlando Julius and The Afro Soundz as well as a DJ set from Rich Medina.

If you don’t mind an Independence Day hangover, head to Meatpacking club, Cielo, on Sunday night for The Deep Space Sunday Party featuring the legendary tunes of Theo Parrish and Francois K.

Brooklyn – Sunday, July 3rd
Weekly Brooklyn party, Mr. Sunday, is known for its inclusive feel-good vibes and great tunes. The July 4th edition of the no-cameras allowed event features an all-day set from DJ Justin Carter Solo. In anticipation of a big holiday crowd, buy a ticket in advance.

Party on the beach without taking the Hamptons Jitney at La Marina NYC on the Hudson Waterfront. On Sunday, MATTE Projects and Crew Love team up for The Summer Love Festival featuring sets from DJ favorites, Wolf + Lamb and Soul Clap. On Monday, check out La Marina’s famous Brunch n’ Beats Party. The Independence Day edition features Chase B and DJ D-Nice.
FESTIVAL OF INDEPENDENCE @ THE SOUTH STREET SEAPORT

Journey over to South Street Seaport for a festival that features hipster-approved tunes and family friendly fun. Curated by Vice’s Noisey, the two day event features all-day music, including shows by Porches, Wild Nothing, and for the kids – Clifford The Big Red Dog. Smorgasbord vendors will also be at the Seaport.
TOP GUN AT BRYANT PARK FILM FESTIVAL
NYC – Monday, July 4th
Those who seek a more laid-back outing, check out Bryant Park’s Summer Film Festival. On the 4th, the outdoor movie series will show the top-grossing film of 1986: Top Gun starring everyone’s favorite Scientologist, Tom Cruise.
THE BEACH BOYS @ CONEY ISLAND AMPHITHEATER
Coney Island – Monday, July 4th
Is there a better way to celebrate the most summery day of the season than with the most summery band in American history? Probably not. The Beach Boys (minus Brian Wilson, Al Jardine, and David Marks) are playing at Coney Islands super new concert venue.
HOUSE OF YES OUTDOOR BARBECUE EXTRAVAGANZA

Funky party collectives, Might Get Weird and House of Yes are teaming up for a July 4th. Billed as “12 hours straight of hot meat, dirty dancing and delicious chillness,” the fête is sure to please. House of Yes is known for their themed parties so be sure to dress in red, white, and blue for this Bushwick bonanza.
“GET SUMMERED” PARTY @ JACOB RIIS PARK
Rockaway Beach – Monday, July 4th
Brokelyn, QNS.com & Red Jacket Orchards and return to the hippest part of the Rockaways for their annual “Get Summered” Party, featuring DJ sets by DIRTY Boogie, Edward Askew, Big Vic, Smudge. As part of the Riis Park Beach Bazaar, the event is free but special passes can be purchased that include beach chairs and meals.
The 4th of July in NYC revolves around the annual Macy’s Fireworks which light up the East River in a dazzling display, usually starting at around 9:25PM. This year’s sparklers are sure to be bigger and better than ever as it is the 40th anniversary. To see the fireworks for free go early to stake out spots at official viewing locations along FDR Drive and the Downtown Piers at South Street Seaport, or head over to Brooklyn Bridge Park. For those lucky enough to be in the Hamptons for the weekend, head over to Umbrella Beach at 9pm for the annual “Stars Over Montauk” display.
