With Fashion Week spring 2018 officially over, we’ve taken stock of the upcoming season’s myriad offerings and compiled a list of the trends that dominated the runway.
TAKE FLIGHT

Feather fringe injected a healthy dose of fantasy into next season’s collections. From Margiela‘s avant-garde flappers to Saint Laurent‘s ostrich mini dresses, get ready to take flight this coming spring.
SUNNY SIDE UP

Keeping with Pantone’s color prediction for spring 2018, bright yellow looks shone on the runways. Prabal Gurung and Marc Jacobs packed an extra punch with sequins, while Christopher Kane embellished with matching mustard lace.
CINCHED

Add definition to your silhouette next spring with leg-lengthening, high-waisted pants. Designers went dramatic with bottoms that sat ultra-elevated and cinched the midriff with a paper-bag waist.
SHEER GENIUS

Prepare to bare all this spring in translucent fabrics, from Oscar de la Renta‘s slinky frocks featuring strategically-placed illustrations to Chanel‘s PVC thigh highs to Alexander McQueen‘s floor-grazing lace gowns.
SLASHER

Models starred in their own Angelina moments on the spring 2018 runways. Mile-high side slits bared leg at Versace, and Altuzarra provided double the trouble with dresses slashed on both sides. The peek-a-boo effect ventured beyond the leg—Marta Jakubowski showed tailored tops with diagonal slits across the torso.
