SYNOPSIS
The Dance (4:35) directed by Andrea Tese, features Elite model Darla Baker. The fashion film explores the nature of vanity and seduction as her onlookers encourage and enrage her performance of self obsession. She is oblivious yet excited by their gaze, yet enraged by her need to perform for them. Cinematography by Ray Collins, with styling by Lauren Goodman. Hair by Patrick Ferrara with makeup by Leonora.

Andrea Tese
Andrea Tese is a fine art and fashion photographer whose debut solo exhibition entitled “Boats Against the Current” appeared at the Heist Gallery located in New York City in 2009. Her photography has also appeared in group exhibitions at The Center for Fine Art Photography in Colorado, Conner Contemporary Art and the Georgetown University Art Gallery in Washington, DC and the Visual Arts Gallery in New York City. Tese’s fine art photography is owned by the Sandor Family Collection and the Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell University, and has also been featured in industry publications such as Phillips du Pury’s phillipsartexpert.com and The Visual Arts Journal. Tese’s fashion photography has been featured in T: The New York Times’ Style Magazine, as well as international editions of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Cosmopolitan Magazines. In May 2009 Tese was presented with the Young Innovative Award by the National Arts Club, as well as the Gold Medal award, the highest honor bestowed by the club. After obtaining a BA from Georgetown University, she received her MFA from The School of Visual Arts in 2007. Tese was born and raised in New York City, where she currently resides.

Darla Baker of Salem, Oregon and graduate of South Salem High School, is an American model. After visiting Mode Models, she was signed with the agency and made her debut soon after in the 2005 Nolita Campaign and 2006 Express clothing campaign. Darla was one of the few models chosen by Chanel couture fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, modeling their clothing in the opening of the new Chanel Hong Kong resort. She has walked for over 100 high fashion and couture designers such as Zac Posen, Anna Sui, and many more. She is the face of Nolita Hair Products and Royal Elastics, and has been featured in Numéro, Vogue Italia, Vogue Deutschland, German Glamour, D Magazine, Women’s Wear Daily, Surface, Teen Vogue, and Fashion.

Hannah Jayanti
Hannah Jayanti is a lens-based artist and filmmaker based in Brooklyn, New York. Her work deals with issues of storytelling through linguistic and aestheitc investigations as well as through the contrast of private and public spheres. She has also contributed production stills and editing to feature documentary films. Her clients include the London Daily Mail, BBC Arena, and the London Telegraph.

Indira Cesarine
Touted as a “photographic child protégé”, Indira Cesarine’s first solo exhibition was at the age of 16 at the Paul Mellon Arts Center. By the time she graduated high school she had exhibited 4 one-woman shows of her photographic work. While finishing a triple major in Art History, French Literature and Women’s Studies at Columbia University, she began shooting for a variety of top modeling agencies including Elite, Ford and Wilhelmina Models. Once she finished her degree, she went to London to pursue her interests in photography and journalism. Within 6 months of arriving in London, she was appointed Editor at Large of the British magazine “Don’t Tell It”, and began shooting editorials for many magazines in England, the US and Europe.
Over the years her work has sparked the interest of some of the world’s top creative directors, having been commissioned for British Vogue, GQ, Glamour, Marie Claire, Tatler, The Times, In Style, L’Officiel as well as many other international publications and advertising campaigns. She is currently represented internationally with agents in New York, London and Milan.
Her career as a director began with her first short film, “City of Love” being featured at Cannes Film Festival in 2007. Since then she has directed, produced and edited numerous short films while maintaining an active career as a photographer. In 2009 she produced and launched the multimedia publication XXXX MAGAZINE, showcasing original multimedia productions of fashion and video art films.
In January 2010, her work was exhibited in a solo show in Paris at Visionairs Gallery, presenting large scale photographic images juxtaposed with her video art productions she directed for XXXX Magazine. Other recent exhibits include: The “Voyeur” Exhibit, Art Basel Miami, in collaboration with XXXX Magazine, Miami Art Museum Contemporaries, American Friends of the Louvre and Quintessentially, December 2010; Motion Deconstructed Exhibit with Quintessentiallly Art, New York, June 2010; Soiree Au Louvre Video Art Installation at the French Embassy, June 2010; New York Fashion Shorts at the Tribeca Grand, September 2009; London Fashion Shorts at Machine–A Gallery in February 2010; View Imaging exhibit, New York, December 2009; and The Distorted Beauty Show, April 2010. Her photography has also been chosen to appear in Dolce and Gabanna’s 20th Anniversary book curated by Fabien Baron.
Indira and her work have been featured internationally on TV shows such as E! TV, Fashion TV, Entertainment Tonight, Inside Edition, HBO’s Special “Ford Supermodel of the World”, MTV, ‘HIGH SOCIETY’ and “Make me a Supermodel” UK and US editions.
