On July 8th, under the first full moon of the month, some of the best up and coming artists were taking over Governor’s Island for the seventh year of the Full Moon Festival. The artists ranged from rappers, to DJs, to indie rock bands. Guests relaxed on the sand and grass areas while enjoying the music and the food from a variety of New York’s most notable eats such has Brooklyn pizza, Thai seafood, Mexican food, rainbow lattes and more.
Some of the artists featured included Chicago rapper Vic Mensa, Kelela, ABRA, Canadian indie rock band TOPS and house pioneer Laryy Heard aka Mr. Fingers, who played live in New York City for the first time in seven years. There were also numerous DJs such as Selvagem, DJ Harvey, Donna Leake and Axel Boman.
