Vivienne Tam’s SS’17 collection at New York Fashion Week on September 12th channeled her latest interests: NASA and the rodeo. The link between the two is Houston, a city that the designer recently visited and fell in love with.
Her admiration for the up-and-coming metropolis and its attractions was evident as she sent space-age silver, cowboy fringe and denim, and Mexican embroidery down the runway. The clothes made for a visually pleasing cultural collage. Many New Yorkers will probably never make it to Houston but at least they can wear one of Tam’s Texan-infused garments.
