YIGAL AZROUEL – NEW YORK – FALL/WINTER 2016 FASHION SHOW

FW16 NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

Yigal Azrouël’s collection, shown on February 12, at Skylight Clarkson Square was an image of contrasting views. Light and dark, innocence and impurity: the differing features combined to debut a dark collection with floral influences. Models with slicked back hair wore dark garments in black, navy, and hints of purple. Touches of lace closed the show, giving off a feminine darkness, making for a beautiful overall effect. For Azrouël, the collection focused on the strength, inner light, and vibrancy that comes from the complexity of a woman. The silhouettes were unexpected, created from draping and deconstructing looks. Luxe knits and intricate jacquards in contrasting black and white reminded the viewer that “from darkness, comes beauty.”
