The runways of New York Fashion Week have proved that fur, leather, blacks and whites are here to stay this upcoming Fall/Winter season. However, some surprises were seen strutting down the runways and The Untitled Magazine is here to lay them all out for you!
Reds and pinks were a big hit this season with Nanette Lepore giving us an entire show full of the lovely colors. Pink may seem a bit strange for Fall but clearly taking risks are what’s in this year.
Midi skirts and dresses were seen in just about every single show put on this fashion week. Thakoon, Victoria Beckham, and Theory (all pictured above) gave elegant simplicity to the trend that will have women everywhere running out to purchase a shin-sweeping dress.
Knitwear had it’s moment on the runways of Tommy Hilfiger, Milly, and The Row. We’re not sure if these designers predicted the polar vortex during this fashion week, but their chunky pieces kept us feeling warm inside knowing that the trend is now fashion-forward.
Call us crazy but our inner 90s nostalgia breathed a sigh of relief when Marc Jacobs, Preen, and Rag & Bone sent models down the catwalk wearing plaid. Each designer gave the print it’s own design – from bomber jackets to fitted dresses – and yet it still all spoke the same message: plaid is back.
Menswear was given a proper welcoming for this coming Fall when Badgley Mischka, Charlotte Ronson, and Rag & Bone paid tribute to the working man by showing trousers and fitted blazers.
Oversized coats are always a key piece for the colder weather as they give room to layer underneath. Tory Burch, The Row, and Proenza Schouler gave us the green light to pick up some roomy coats for the Fall.
Soft furs are another staple piece for the colder weather and this coming Fall is no exception. 3.1 Phillip Lim, Band of Outsiders, and Ohne Titel each had us lusting for a fur coat during their shows.
