Designers presented creative, edgy, and masculine inspired options on the runway. Chunky, masculine platforms were suggested by Stella McCartney and Rodarte and some exaggerated forms were also noted with the looks presented by Céline.
Straps have been bubbling up this season and they come in some eccentric shades. These pieces have found their place in the shows of Miu Miu, Carolina Herrera, Jason Wu, Rebecca Taylor, Jill Stuart, House of Holland, Valentino and more.
In order to accent both the femininity and the concept of modern luxury, some designers adorned shoes with shining beads and crystals. Alexander McQueen opted for crystalized combat boots, Saint Laurent presented a wave of sparkles, and Marni decorated their flats with colorful stones. Fur and animal prints are definitely fashion trends and have an untimely return year after year. Derek Lam, Nina Ricci, and Diane von Furstenberg each presented bags ranging from fluffy fur to reptile skins in soft leather, so there is no secret that our animalistic side is more than welcomed this fall.
A clutch is the perfect combination of functionality and glamour, and this upcoming season will be all about the strapless bag. Embellished, decorated, and color-blocked, clutches were spotted at Bottega Veneta, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, and Stella McCartney.
Hair accessories for fall 2014 come in a variety of styles – from classic broches presented at Peter Som, to glittering head pieces created by Dolce & Gabbana. Jean Paul Gaultier, Givenchy, Simone Rocha, and Chanel who each presented innovative designs.
