ALEXANDER MCQUEEN – PARIS F/W 2012 FASHION SHOW
For the Alexander McQueen Fall 2012 collection, Sarah Burton incorporated McQueen’s signature style, hoof-like shoes, dramatic silhouettes, and an intensity of detail, with Burton’s lighter sensibilities. She described the collection by saying, “It’s futurism with softness, not cold futurism.” The traditional McQueen elements were all in place, but instead of their usual gothic, sinister bent, they were given a frothy lightness and femininity. The collection was done in various shades of blush with tiered, voluminous ruffles, and accents of ivory fur, completed with oversized, dark visors that covered the models’ faces.
