ALEXIS MABILLE – HAUTE COUTURE
In Alexis Mabille’s collection, eclectic fabric choices where assembled to create garments that resembled jewels and precious stones. His dresses revived the sparkle of diamonds through the aesthetic of the sumptuous fabrics and its elements. While such femininities were explicit, there was also a nod to the masculine in the use of tails, ties, and ruffs. Still, the general focus was on the magnificence of laminated fabrics–velvet, crepe, organza, jersey–that in fusion were reminiscent of glittering gems. All the models had their hair twisted into hooks, with pendants dangling from the end.
