ANOK YAI HONORED AS MODEL OF THE YEAR AT THE FASHION AWARDS 2025 PRESENTED BY PANDORA

The British Fashion Council has announced that Anok Yai will receive the coveted Model of the Year Award at The Fashion Awards 2025 presented by Pandora, taking place on December 1st at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The annual event, a major fundraiser for the BFC Foundation, celebrates the creative forces redefining global fashion and culture.

After debuting with Mugler’s Hypersense Eau de Parfum last year, Anok now stars in the 2025 campaign for Alien Extraintense, a continuation of the fragrance’s futuristic mythology.

Born in Egypt to South Sudanese parents and raised in the United States, Anok has become a transformative figure in the industry—one whose presence bridges art, identity, and representation. Over the past year, she has graced the covers of Vogue France and fronted major campaigns for Versace, Alaïa, and Saint Laurent, in addition to continuing her tenure as the face of Mugler’s “Alien” fragrance.

Anok’s influence extends well beyond modeling. She was recently credited as Creative Director on her Perfect Magazine shoot, signaling a new era where top models increasingly shape the creative process itself. Her artistry, intellect, and vision for beauty have positioned her not just as a muse but as a leader in shaping visual culture.

Reflecting on the honor, Anok shared:

“Being named Model of the Year is such an honour. My journey—from Egypt to South Sudan to the U.S.—is one of resilience and community. This recognition is for everyone who’s ever seen their story in mine. Thank you for celebrating us.”

For Summer 2025, Alaïa steps into open air with “Archetypes,” a campaign centered on freedom, motion, and the pull of long days. Photographer Tyrone Lebon captured Anok Yai against sunlit terraces in the South of France.

The Model of the Year Award was decided by an expert panel including Anita Bitton, Campbell Addy, Carlos Nazario, Julia Sarr-Jamois, and Sophia Neophitou-Apostolou, among others.

With her commanding presence and groundbreaking achievements, Anok Yai continues to redefine what it means to be a modern supermodel—where representation meets creative power, and fashion’s future looks vividly her own.
