From appearing in the 2007 cinematic adaptation of beloved young adult novel “Bridge to Terabithia” to starring in this year’s blood-soaked horror flick “The Strangers: Prey At Night,” Bailee Madison has been acting for over a decade, a notable feat considering she’s only 18-years-old. Besides acting, Madison also writes (her book, “Losing Brave,” was published in January), produces (see: “A Cowgirl’s Story” and “Annabelle Hooper and the Ghosts of Nantucket”) and designs (scroll down for more on her collection with Macy’s). We chatted with the multitalented star about her impressive ambition and upcoming projects. Read on for our exclusive interview and photo shoot!

Untitled: You’re so young but have already taken on acting, producing, designing and writing. Which project has proven most challenging and why?
Bailee Madison: I’m so grateful to the mentors I have around me who are taking the time to let me test the waters on things that mean something to me. Each task has been challenging in its own way. It pushes me out of  my comfort zone and allows me to continue to dream bigger.

Can you tell us about your role in upcoming film, “The Strangers: Prey At Night?”
Kinsey is a very layered and broken teenage girl. When we first meet her we get the sense that she feels isolated from her entire family, so in order to numb the pain she tries to push herself farther away from them. The journey she makes as a character from a broken little girl to a strong and brave woman is a story I was eager and honored to tell.

What was the best part of working on the film?
This film holds such a dear place in my heart, and always will. It was the first film that not only pushed me emotionally but also physically to a place I had never been before. It was demanding in so many ways; I learned something new every day and to have been able to play such a badass female in a horror film like this was a true joy. Not to mention, I made some friends for life!

Can you talk about your Macy’s capsule collection? What kind of girl do you picture wearing the collection?
My capsule collection with Macy’s for every girl to wear. I truly believe that fashion should tell not just any story, but your story—it’s unique to you, and that’s why we made sure each piece can be mixed and matched and styled to tell the story you want to tell about yourself. I’m so excited and grateful to Nowadays for letting me team up with them on this journey.

Can you name some women who inspire you?
In my personal life my mother and my sister inspire me every day with their heart, mind, drive and strength. I’m so inspired as a watcher by Charlize Theron, Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman. They are constantly creating and making change in our industry.

What advice would you give to young girls pursuing a career in acting?
My advice is to surround yourself from the beginning with your family and core group of friends, believe in what you are and who you are, remain true to your values and dreams and know that everything happens for a reason.

Do you have any other projects in the works that you can tell us about?
I’m working on some new ways to grow behind the lens and in front of it as well! This year my focus is growing as a human being, an actor, and as someone who is captivated by the business I’m in. I’m excited to announce some things very soon!
