Inspired by South African tradition, David Tlale bridges the gap between African heritage and 70’s style in his New York Fashion Week collection. Bright turbans and other headdresses were used to add elegance to his pleated and draped silhouettes. Outfits like his peach and white caftans with black detailing highlighted his inspiration of the idea of “Transcendence” -the celebration of the spirit we all share beyond nuances of culture, history and geography. Fused with texture, the collection was original and emphasized multi-cultural chic.
