On Valentines Day 2016, Diane von Furstenberg put a stake through the heart of the traditional fashion show. Furstenberg who is also the president of the CFDA, ditched the runway in favor of a star-powered presentation party at her company headquarters in the meatpacking district. On the ground floor, models in casual looks of printed separates, flouncy blouses and midi skirts played office as if they were extras on the film, Nine to Five. They went in and out of doors and chatted as if it were just a typical day at work at DVF, with “She Works Hard For The Money” playing in the background.

On the second floor, current It-models Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Irina Shayk, Lily Aldridge, and Jourdan Dunn disco-danced and instagrammed with Furstenberg in outfits worthy of Studio 54. Jenner wore a multi-colored jumpsuit and although Kloss donned the sparkler of the night, a gold sequined wrap dress with beaded shoulders, it was Hadid whose outfit was the true money maker of the collection. Her black and white slip dress was available for purchase immediately after the event, demonstrating that Furstenberg is consistently redefining the term, “ready to wear.”
